Wet or damp subfloor beneath existing flooring — hardwood, LVP, tile, or carpet
Cupping, buckling, or warping in hardwood or engineered wood floors — sign of moisture beneath
Swollen baseboards or door frames that no longer close properly — indicates absorbed moisture
Musty odor under carpet or near baseboards — mold may already be forming in the subfloor
Soft or spongy spots when walking across the floor — subfloor may be compromised
Visible efflorescence or moisture staining on concrete slab beneath flooring
Mold or dark discoloration on the underside of removed flooring or on the subfloor surface
Moisture meter readings above 12% in wood subfloor or above 4% in concrete slab — do not install over this
